Weeknotes #5

June got off to a really good start. I had time to write a few posts on the blog. After that, though, a lot was going on. All sorts of things. I had a lot of work and struggled to find time for other commitments. That’s why blogging took a back seat. This is perfectly illustrated by the Junited blogging event I took part in. I also had less time to read other bloggers’ posts and share the most interesting ones. Oh well.

I’m starting July with a few days off and I intend to spend them resting and reading, but I’ll definitely write something on the blog too. I don’t know how this month will turn out. Perhaps it’ll be a bit kinder and not quite as hectic as the last one?

The intensity of June made me start thinking about organising my tasks more effectively. A few things slipped my mind, and later I had to put a lot of effort into remembering what I’d forgotten but needed to do. This caused me anxiety and stress. I’d like to avoid that in future. That’s why I decided to look for a solution.

Up until now, I’ve been using Apple Reminders, but I recently tried Todoist. After using it for a few days, it seems to me that it’s an app that’s ‘more at my fingertips’ than Apple Reminders. Some of its features are better thought out. That’s what I reckon, anyway. I’m still testing it out. I’ll probably write more about it in due course.

I was delighted to see that Olly had included my “List of blog aggregators” and "Junited 2026" in the latest instalment of his series “Who’s using Pagecord (June 2026)” on the official Pagecord blog. Thank you. Be sure to check out the other posts he’s recommended as well. They’re really interesting.

Lately, I’ve been becoming more and more of a tennis fan. Not as an amateur player, but as a supporter who’s following the tournaments more closely. It really is an interesting sport. So different from the team sports I’ve been following for many years. I particularly appreciate the calm, the focus and the silence during the game. I suppose I’m getting a bit older.
