List of sources

Some time ago, I transferred my subscribed YouTube channels to my RSS reader, Reeder. I love it for its rich functionality and beautiful, refined design. And the best thing is that it allows you to watch videos and listen to podcasts directly in the app.

When I was browsing YouTube channels and adding them to my reader, I realised that I didn’t need all of them. So I chose the ones that were most important to me. After a few weeks, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything.

I recently did the same with podcasts, but I kept a margin of error, so I’ll be going back to them soon to make another selection.

I want to do the same with the entire list of sources in my reader. I feel like I have too many of them, and sometimes I get the impression that I can’t keep up with the information flowing in. I don’t want that. I want to control what reaches me and push away the information noise that causes me to feel overstimulated.

That’s why I’ve chosen a radical method: a piece of paper, a pencil (I love writing with a pencil) and time to start a brutal selection process for the sake of my own mind.

I’ll come back to this topic in a while to describe and summarise this experiment.
